Classic HX Optics differs from other China riflescope manufacturers in a dramatic way: we do not just copy and duplicate existing optical designs, but are on the cutting edge of innovative optical design & engineering methods.
Led by Classic’s resident PhD in optical engineering, our design team is charged with developing designs that are on par with the top global riflescope manufacturers. With the aid of professional optic design software used in all high-tech optic industries, we are able to design, develop, and calibrate precise optical elements both separately and as one complete afocal optics structure. By making minute adjustments in certain optic elements, we are able to maximize efficiency in key criterion of the serious hunter and shooter: resolution, light transmission, edge-to edge clarity, eye relief, exit pupil, FOV, and the ‘eye-box’.
Utilizing advanced optical software such as Code V, Zemax EE, OSLO and TracePro, Classic is able to employ advanced optical design techniques based on aberration theories. We maximize optical performance by using our optical analysis tool kit, which includes Aberration Coefficients, MTF (Modular Transfer Function), Spot diagrams, Field Curvature, Distortion and Scatter/BRDF analysis.
Opto-Mechanical Engineering
A superior optics design can be denigrated by limitations of the opto-mechanical casing and components. Most riflescope manufacturers procure their components from the same pool of local suppliers. For low-to-mid-end riflescopes, this phenomenon is suitable enough. However, this pool of component suppliers is entirely incapable of providing the precision necessary to achieve the tight tolerances that higher-end riflescopes require. The material hardness and the manufacturing processes involved in this existing China supply chain prohibits the industry in China as a whole from being able to provide truly precision manufactured scopes.
Here at Classic HX, we have developed a private network of component and material suppliers that are geared towards producing high precision components. Only by doing this can our superior optic systems be fully appreciated- we are now able to put a Porsche ™ engine in a Porsche ™ body.
